Marlon Brando Early Screen Test

Marlon Brando's screen tests reveal a very shy person, as after he plays a scene we are shown Brando telling what plays he did before coming to Hollywood.

Marlon Brando Talks About Hollywood Movies

Marlon Brando spoke to Larry King about Jews and the film industry. That the people who run Hollywood are Jews who should know better. Stereotyping other nationalities but not their own. This is a very intelligent and shrewd assessment of the film industry in America.

Brando: I think that—I—am very angry with some of the Jews. I am very goddamned angry—

King: At some of the Jews?

Brando: —at some of the Jews who have known—who have suffered terribly at the hands of the Russians, of the Germans and the Poles and all of the anti-Semitic elements in Europe and it was a godsend to come to America where they could be free—and they could—they could do whatever they wanted.

King: Then what are you angry at?

Brando: And then Sam Goldwyn and all of the rest of them. Metro Goldwyn Mayer, they—Hollywood is run by Jews. It is owned by Jews—and they should have a greater sensitivity about the issue of—of people who are suffering. Because they’ve exploited—we have seen the—we have seen the [deleted] and greaseball, we’ve seen the Chink, we’ve seen the slit-eyed dangerous Jap, we have seen the wily Filipino, we’ve seen everything but we never saw the kike. Because they knew perfectly well, that that is where you draw the—wagons around—

I published this post because it's among Brando's most controversial quotes. If you think about it he's right. Think of the Irish drunk, the tough guinea, the krauts, the dumb polack, etc.

Brigitte Bardot

A beautiful woman who quit films around 1970 because she saw an old woman on the screen -- herself. She still looked good. She kept her figure for a long time (former ballet dancer) but I think she smokes too much. One thing I will say about her. She's one of the most courageous women ever in show business. She goes all out for animals. If she finds a dead animal in a trap, she will pick it up and show it to people and to the press.

She was never one to resort to cosmetic surgery, yet she wears all her make-up. She was the Beatles ideal woman. When John Lennon met her, he was shaking with nerves. (Too much expresso.) Here is how she looks today.

Ivanka Trump is Pregnant

1/22/2011
Anthony Feole
Celebrity Apprentice star, real-estate executive and jewelry mogul Ivanka Trump, announced Friday that she’s expecting a child with her husband, New York newspaper publisher Jared Kushner.

Trump tweeted: “I have been wanting to share some amazing news with you all for some time…I’m pregnant…Jared and I couldn’t be more excited.”

The pair were married in October 2009 in an elaborate ceremony at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Barbara Walters and Regis Philbin were among the 500 guests in attendance.

Although Trump insisted she wasn’t ready to become a parent in 2009, the time for compromise has come. When she discussed how she plans to approach motherhood, she cited her enterprising parents as a source of inspiration.

Trump wrote in her book, The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life: “My parents have both led nontraditional lifestyles—but they have extremely traditional relations with their children.”

So what does that mean for the future -- a golden potty for the baby? Wait till she registers for the baby shower.

Robert Downey Jr at the Golden Globes.  (He's my favorite living actor but he does mumble a bit or talk too fast or something.)

Pee Wee Herman on Saturday Night Live SNL

Pee Wee Herman is back.  He appeared in an SNL Digital Short.  He looked older and might have put on weight.  I'm just sorry for all the years we didn't have Pee Wee.  For those in the NY area, it's like seeing Huntz Hall on Officer Joe Bolton's Show in the early '60s.  When you haven't seen someone in a long time it's a bit of a surprise.  Here he is:

Celebrity Apprentice

Check out this show.  It's going to be a blast.  How long will LaToya stay in the game?  I bet not long.  David Cassidy will be on -- he just got arrested for drunk driving (covered in these pages).  Let's see how strong his personality is.  NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  She is emotional but tough.  I hope she lasts a long time.  She has a new word every year.  Once it was "Boo."  Now it's "bloop-bloop-bloop."  It goes upscale, meaning she's an optimist.   Gary Busey who has brain damage due to a motorcycle accident  -- he wasn't wearing a helmut.  He's found God.  The clip above shows all of them individually.  The show airs March 6, 2011.

Michael Jackson Lawyer: Michael not Suicidal

Thomas Mesereau, Michael Jackson's lawyer, puts the full blame on Dr.Murray, who was Michael Jackson's doctor when Michael died. Apparently he would give Michael jolts of anesthesia to get him to fall asleep. The preliminary to the trial starts tomorrow. Try to catch it on Tru.com TV (once known as Court TV). Here's a short article from TMZ today:

Dr. Conrad Murray has said after administering CPR he ran downstairs and asked the chef to send up Prince Michael, who saw his dad's lifeless body lying in the bed.

In fact, we're told no one from MJ's family will be called to the stand during the prelim.

As TMZ first reported, prosecutors plan to call 30 witnesses during the 2-week prelim ... many of whom will be medical professionals offering opinions about the standard of care administered by Dr. Murray.

There will be no "star witness" in the prelim. Sources tell us the various witnesses will form building blocks, making the case that Dr. Murray acted recklessly by administering Propofol and other drugs to Jackson the day he died.

This is one trial I'll try to watch in its entirety
